Frequently Asked Questions

You Ask. We Answer.

  • Is there an age minimum for children?
The minimum age to parasail is 4-5 years old. To fly alone, however, you usually have to weigh over 120 pounds, but lighter people can team up to ride with someone else. Anyone under the age of 19 has to get a parent or legal guardian to sign the waiver release.
  • How many can fly at a time?
We can fly one, two or three at a time depending on weight, weather and wind conditions.
  • How long is the ride?
Parasailing flights themselves are about 10-12 minutes. The entire trip depends on how many people are on the boat. Usually this is between 30 minutes to an hour. This includes the boat ride, the flight and the return boat ride back to the dock. Please ensure you arrive at the kiosk 30 minutes before your scheduled flight.
  • Will I get wet?
No. However, if you would like to get dipped in the water and weather conditions permit, the captain can dip you anywhere from your toes to your nose.
  • What should I wear?
A swimsuit is best, but shorts or pants are also fine. Don't wear anything you don't want to get wet.
  • Can I take pictures?
Absolutely! Our deckhand may be able to take photos of you with your phone while on board. We also offer a a GoPro Video package on a selfie stick available for you to take up in the air with you. This package is available with your booking or at the ticket kiosk.
  • Can I take my belongings on the boat?
You can bring a small bag with you on the boat. All bags should stay dry but we cannot guarantee they will not get wet so please think about the items you bring with you.
  • I'm not parasailing, can I still go on the boat?
Viewers are allowed onboard the boat on a first come first serve basis if there is space available at the time of your flight. We can't guarantee viewers at time of booking but we can allow last minute if the boat is not full. If you have a friend or family member that you would like to accompany you onboard the boat, we charge a small fee for viewers to cover fuel costs.
  • Is it customary to tip the crew?
Just like others in the service industry, the crew works very hard to make sure all your needs onboard the boat are taken care of. If you had a good time, the crew always appreciates a tip!
  • What if it rains or is extremely windy?
A little sprinkle and we stay out, but high or gusty winds make parasailing unsafe. The Captain decides if we are going on stand-by or if we close down for the day. If you weren’t able to fly then you can either be refunded or rescheduled for another time/day. If you are unsure about the weather conditions, please give us a call the day of your flight and we can confirm whether we are operating or not. That said, weather conditions may change abruptly and the possibility always exists that we may need to suspend operations on short notice if the weather takes a turn – safety always comes first.
  • What are your cancellation and refund policies?
Any cancellations requested before 24 hours prior to trip departure will receive a full refund. All cancellations done within 24 hours of scheduled departure will receive a 50% refund. All cancellations due to poor weather conditions will be rescheduled or receive a full refund.
  • Are you affiliated with Okanagan Parasail?
Okanagan Parasail is our sister company and we are operated by the same owner, from the same location. The Kelowna Parasail brand has been around since the 1960s and we are thrilled to bring its nostalgic origins back to life in Kelowna! You can book with either company and you'll be getting the same great prices and service.
